The Night of Festivals website is being developed ahead of a series of bespoke festival events over 2015 & 2016. These include Lincoln in June 2015 to celebrate the 800th Anniversary of the Magna Carta, Leicester in October 2015 as the Cultural centrepiece for the City’s Rugby World Cup Celebrations and some exciting collaborations with European partner festivals and the UK’s Great British Carnival with anticipation for a London presentation in 2016.

Night of Festivals completes 2013-2014 tour

A fantastic weekend in Leicester, as part of the City Festival, brought the current tour of Night of Festivals to a lively and successful conclusion. Since September 2013 the Festival has visited four locations – Nottingham, Boston, Slough and Leicester and been enjoyed by over 100,000 people. In addition hundreds of local people have experienced intensive  participation in carnival performance, samba dance and music workshops, and visual arts activity. A new feature in Leicester was the engagement of international artist Ali Pretty, working with a team of local artists and practitioners to create a “Freedom Map” of Leicester painted on a 32 metre length of silk! ArtReach wants to thanks all those who have  participated and come along to enjoy Night of Festivals, as well as key partners who have supported the project through commissioning or artistic engagement. Funding partners are credited below, but the following delivery partners (in addition to individual artists and performers) have been critical to ensuring the success of this exciting Festival:

ArtReach is now  busy developing plans for the next versions of Night of Festivals. Already confirmed are plans to deliver a special Magna Carta event in Lincoln in June 2015, and a Rugby World Cup Special Edition in Leicester in October 2015. The scale and scope is dependent on funding bids still in assessment. We anticipate there will be news of development plans before March 2015!
