20 young stilt performers wanted for Night of Festivals Leicester finale!

ArtReach is looking for twenty young people, or young adults, aged 14 upwards to undertake intensive training to become stilt performers as part of a special carnival finale for Night of Festivals SPECIAL EDITION in October.

Night of Festivals SPECIAL EDITION will provide a rich and spectacular centrepiece to the cultural celebrations for the Rugby World Cup in Leicester from 2nd – 4th October 2015.

Live music, theatre, dance, carnival, samba, live art, visual arts installations, moving image, digital arts and participatory workshop activity will bring magic, enjoyment, fun and stimulation to the city centre streets, FanZone area and Leicester’s King Power Stadium.

The Festival will include a special Night-Time Carnival Parade on Saturday 4 October which will involve a procession along New Walk to Victoria Park and a 20 minute finale performance in the Fan Zone, led by international arts organisations Stelzen Arts, Oakleaf Creativity and Mandinga Arts.

ArtReach wants to recruit committed participant performers to be part of this exciting event. Artists from Stelzen Arts will be delivering stilt training workshops from 25-27 August and those participating will be rehearsed as stilt performers to take part in the finale event on 4th October.
