With funding and support now secured, plans are being developed in detail for two exciting Night of Festivals events in 2016. An enhanced Hounslow event will animate the town centre on 25/26 June and Night of Festivals London will comprise a Night Time Carnival on the South Bank (6 August) and a full festival day in Southwark (Sunday 7 August).
ArtReach is delighted to be developing its creative relationships with Inspire Hounslow, Cultural Community Solutions, London Contemporary Theatre, Hounslow Music Service and Hounslow Borough Council, preparing for a second Night of Festivals event in the town. With all the Night of Festivals hallmarks there will be large scale community participation, world music and culturally diverse visual arts ingredients.
August 5 sees the Opening Ceremony for the Rio Olympics and ArtReach hopes to wow the Latin American community in London with a special Southwark presentation of Night of Festivals on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August. Arts Council England has now joined Creative Europe (through the European Union) in funding the event, which will comprise an extraordinary Night Time Lit Carnival procession on the Southbank, culminating with a 20 minute finale at Potter’s Field (next to City Hall) on the evening of Saturday 6 August. The full Festival event will take place on the More London site, adjacent to City Hall(Southbank)on Sunday 7 August from 11am-6pm.
