Saturday 25th – Sunday 26th June
Following the great success of the 2015 event, Night of Festivals returns to animate Hounslow High Street and enthuse the Hounslow public from the 25-26th June. In a vibrant weekend full of carnival atmosphere, the Festival will feature world music and visual arts entertainment, with fantastic opportunities of participation for the public.
The carnival will be taking place throughout the Saturday and Sunday on Hounslow High Street, featuring giant puppets and extraordinary costumes, presented by Mandinga Arts, accompanied by the flamboyant 5-piece percussion and brass street band Sabar Sounds. Bell Square will host a live music stage, showcasing Hounslow based musicians and names from further afield such as Abdelkader Saadoun and 4X4 Bhangra, whilst Hounslow Library will exhibit an intriguing visual arts installation by Romanian artist Lea Rasovzky
Night of Festivals celebrates freedom and democracy through artistic innovation, reflected in the stunning carnival costumes that have been inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm and the Day of the Dead Mexican holiday. We’re looking forward to returning to Hounslow, and engage the general public with the carnival activity.
